Plan A | Documentary of Making Aliyah
For the past 150 years, millions of Jews worldwide have been immigrating or making Aliyah to Israel.
An increasing number of Jews are considering moving to Israel and eventually making Aliyah. While some are driven by challenging circumstances such as war or anti-Semitism, many others come from countries with favorable conditions. The Israeli government has estimated that almost half of the world’s Jewish population already resides in Israel.
But what lies behind the phenomenon known as Aliyah? Why do so many Jews aspire to move to the small and politically unstable country in the Middle East?
In this documentary, we encounter five individuals who have made Aliyah to Israel. Chaim, Dan, Ellen, Aliya, and Israel are among them. Chaim, Dan, and Ellen migrated from the United States, while Israel returned to the land of his ancestors from Crimea, Ukraine, alongside approximately one million Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union during the 1990s.
